1. Program Overview

Preparing Sontek Residents for Employment, Career Development and Workplace Success

The Employment Readiness & Career Support Program of Youth Advancement Sontec Society (YASS) is designed to help Sontek residents prepare for employment by developing practical job-search skills, improving career awareness, strengthening workplace readiness and connecting participants with appropriate employment, education and training resources.

Finding employment often involves more than simply locating a vacancy. A person may need help identifying suitable occupations, preparing a professional CV, completing applications, developing interview confidence, understanding workplace expectations or identifying skills that need further development.

Through this program, YASS provides structured employment-readiness support so participants can assess their skills and employment needs, establish realistic career goals, prepare for job applications and interviews, develop workplace skills, access appropriate training or employment resources and review their progress over time.

Why This Program Is Needed

Residents may experience different barriers when looking for work. Some may have qualifications but limited job-search experience. Others may need stronger communication or digital skills, assistance preparing application documents, information about available occupations or connections to relevant training opportunities. YASS helps participants identify these needs and take practical next steps.

Program Type

Career Support + Employment Readiness Training + Skills Development + Referral

This is an ongoing employment-support program, not one single course. Depending on individual needs, participants may take part in a range of workshops, training and support activities.
