Help with outreach, talk to residents, understand their needs and guide them to the right programs and services.

Support young people through education, life-skills, career guidance, sports, cultural and leadership activities.

Community Resource & Referral Support

Help residents find healthcare, legal help, jobs, housing, transportation, childcare and other community resources.

Older & Vulnerable Resident Support

Reach out to seniors, persons with disabilities and families facing challenges and connect them with support.

Social Assistance Information

Help share information about government allowances, pensions and other social support programs.

Health & Community Awareness

Support health camps, awareness programs and community information sessions.

Emergency & Relief Support

Help during floods, fires, severe weather and other emergencies with relief, information and community support.

Program & Event Support

Assist in planning, registration, logistics and smooth running of programs, workshops and events.

Follow-up & Community Feedback

Assist with follow-up activities, surveys and feedback to help us improve our programs.

Program Records & Statistics

Support staff in maintaining records, attendance and program data for better planning and reporting.

Who Can Join?

  1. 1Have an interest in serving the Sontek community
  2. 2Can treat residents with dignity, fairness and respect
  3. 3Are willing to follow YASS policies and volunteer guidelines
  4. 4Can maintain appropriate confidentiality
  5. 5Are willing to work collaboratively with YASS staff, other volunteers and community partners
  6. 6Can commit reasonable time to their selected activities
  7. 7Provide valid identification and other information required for volunteer screening
  8. 8Provide a Police Clearance Certificate where required by YASS
  9. 9If you are a student of any institute, provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your institution where required
  10. 10Complete required orientation, training and agree to our Code of Conduct

Volunteer Training & Orientation

All volunteers receive orientation and training before starting their activities. Training includes:

  • Introduction to YASS and our community
  • Roles, responsibilities and limitations
  • Privacy, confidentiality & safeguarding
  • Appropriate communication
  • Community outreach & referral procedures
  • Emergency response awareness
  • Basic documentation & record keeping
  • Working with staff, partners & community members
  • Volunteer Code of Conduct

Important Requirements

Police Clearance Certificate

Required for roles working with vulnerable groups, children, seniors or sensitive community situations.

NOC From Institute (for Students)

Students must provide a No Objection Certificate from their educational institution where required.
